April 26, 2013
Dear Friends,
I wanted to give you an update of what has
happened in the last couple of weeks. First of all, we have completed the
remodeling necessary for our new recording studio. The framing, electrical,
drywall and painting have been finished. We have purchased material for the
video backdrop and have begun the process of assembling the recording equipment.
I want to
thank everyone who supported us in the month of April with your prayers and
gifts. We didn’t know how the month would turn out, but we decided to step out
in faith and believed that God's people would be there. I am happy to report
that all ministry bills have been paid with the exception of the remaining month
of rent due on the old church building. I have committed myself to paying this
debt so that our unsaved landlord will see that God’s people do not walk away
from debts.
When
it comes to the new studio, we did not have the cash on hand for the materials
and labor. While we did most of the work ourselves, we did have to hire an
electrician and purchased the necessary material on credit. I know that some
will disagree and say that we should not have done anything until we had the
funds for it but I believe time is of essence and that it was necessary to get
up as quick as possible with the way events in the world and our nation are
changing so rapidly.
I believe
that the Devil knocked us off the air with the destruction of the Resurrection
Life of Jesus Church. The plan that God had laid out was for Bill Chacon to take
over as a pastor and that the cost of the facility rent would be split between
the RLJC and EAEC. Our long term goal was to pray in funds and build a new
studio with funds in hand. In the meantime, we could continue our webcasts and
other recordings at the church facility. But when the church crashed, we had to
scramble to get our equipment out and start working on a new studio immediately.
Our plan is to resume a weekly webcast every Sunday at 9 a.m. Pacific Standard
Time. We also hope to be able to have a Bible study webcast during the week.
Please pray
for us as we are working hard to get back on the Internet again.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor John S. Torell
