LUCIFER COULD NOT DETHRONE GOD IN THE HEAVENS, SO HE IS DETHRONING GOD IN THE HEARTS OF MEN -- ISAIAH 14:12-20

13 OCTOBER 2002
Pastor John S. Torell began his message today by reading the above Scripture reference, after which the Holy Spirit changed the message from the one planned. The sermon that was planned was Part 2 of "The War of Satan Against The Church of Jesus Christ" which is delayed until next Sunday, October 20, 2002.

THE TONGUE MUST BE CRUCIFIED!

Attitudes should not exist in God’s kingdom. The tongue can no man tame. James 3:1-18

Our private life should match our public life. More than speaking the truth, we must live in the truth.
John 4:19-26

We must live for God at home the same as in the church. James 1:21-27

When we are unkind, angry or slashing someone, we are worshiping the devil. Calling people names is worship to Satan. Matthew 4:1-11

How did Satan set Jesus up for temptation?

Satan questioned Jesus’ integrity. Verse 3

Satan questioned Jesus’ deity. Verses 5-6

Satan tried to make Jesus angry. Verses 8-10

When we give in to temptation to speak evil, it gives Satan the opportunity to brag to Jesus that His servant has worshiped Satan. God will help you if you are willing to do what He says. Matthew 5:20-26.

We must be more righteous than the Scribes and Pharisees. We need to give to people with love. Pay attention to a child who wants to share with us. If we turn away as if they don’t matter, we wound their spirit. Likewise, pay attention to those who seek us out to share something with us. We all need to share with someone. The remedy is the love of God in us. John 3:14-17

We tend to do to our loved ones what has been done to us, but someone must break the pattern. Love is the only thing that causes us to do what is right. Isaiah 1:10-20

We need to repent and get right before God. We do not see our own problems unless the Holy Spirit convicts us so we can repent and deal with them. Matthew 7:4-5.

Do not compare yourself to others, but instead compare yourself to the Son of God.
Isaiah 1:18-20; 1 John 1:4-10

Don’t say, "When he/she changes, I will respond," rather, it starts with you no matter who was in the wrong. It doesn’t matter who takes the first step toward reconciliation.
1 John 1:7; 1 John 1:9-10.

Christ in us– the hope of glory! That is what helps us change. Ask God to help you to change. V. 8-10

God wants to bring us to a higher plane as a church – as individuals. Do you understand that most of the conflicts we’ve had in life, we caused? Do you have an ear with which to hear? Psalm 103:10-13

ALTAR CALL: "Lay your tongue on the altar to crucify it. God, show me my sin so I can be cleansed and forgiven."

AMEN!
