SPECIAL INTERESTS: HOW FREE IS A POLITICIAN? John S. Torell |

Very few politicians will tell you the truth when it comes to what happens to them after they are elected and in office. When Arnold Schwarzenegger (born in Austria in 1948) ran for the office of Governor of California, many people laughed and considered him "a lightweight," more of a showman than a person with intelligence, but after six months in office, people have realized that the immigrant from Austria does have a strong personality, going beyond body building and making movies. He is a successful businessman, having invested his money into a number of enterprises and has used his assets to build a small business empire. In the Sacramento Bee, May 30, 2004, an interview with the Governor was printed and there was one thing that stood out and caught my attention. The following question was asked by the reporter, Daniel Weintraub: "What is the most important thing you have learned since the October 7, 2003 election?"
Here is an honest answer from Arnold, which holds true anywhere in the world. "I learned it is – what unbelievable influence and power the special interests have in this building here. "When I was campaigning, I remember that I talked to a lot of leaders, political leaders and people as I got into the campaign about the various different obstacles that this state is facing. One of the things that came up quite frequently was the special interests. I included it in my speech, and I said, ‘Special interests, if they push me around, I will push back’ and all those things. But I did not quite know when I was saying those lines what it really was like, because I had to only imagine, since I was never here in the Capitol dealing with it. Then I come here, and I start negotiating about the balanced budget initiative, the $15 billion dollar bond, the recovery bonds. And all of a sudden, in the middle of negotiations, you hear, like, ‘Well, we can’t do that.’ ‘I said, Why not?’ ‘The Unions don’t let us. They will never go for this.’ "And so, I heard quite frequently about different special interests that are dictating down to the politicians of what to do. And I realized that the whole cycle of them financing their campaigns and therefore then owing the debt, having debt to them that they owe, that they are actually in the hands of special interests. And that, to me, was the most incredible thing. That what I saw firsthand, the influence they have, how they are buzzing around during our negotiations, all over the building – meetings. Literally writing the language and all that. That, to me, was – I said to my friends here, I said, ‘What I have seen during these negotiations was like literally 100 times worse than what I talked about and I believed during the campaign.’ That to me was the most incredible thing. I mean, I never realized that it was that blatant. Not like, behind closed doors, but blatantly running around here and telling those guys up there, ‘That’s what we want you to do; otherwise we can’t support you any more.’ And then they come down and say, ‘We are going to lose two million dollars here, and four million – I wish, but we can’t. Can you help us here?"
WHAT ARNOLD SWARZENEGGER DID NOT SAY In 1984, Arnold was a well known body builder and was also known as a "ladies’ man." According to official records, his father, Gustav, was a card carrying member of the Nazi party which he joined in 1939, and later was a soldier in the German Army. Even if Arnold was born three years after World War II was over and had nothing to do with any persecution of Jews, just the fact that his father had been a Nazi would cast a dark shadow over him and make Jews leery about having him around .
Arnold, being raised as a Roman Catholic, decided to call The Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles and asked to be invited to its annual banquet. This Jewish center was founded by Rabbi Marvin Hier and named after the well known Jewish Nazi hunter, Simon Wiesenthal. Rabbi Hier and Arnold forged a "friendship" (business deal) and Arnold began attending events at the center on a regular basis, including raising funds for the rabbi. Arnold became a member and a patron of the Center and has contributed between 750,000 to one million dollars of his own money as well as millions of dollars raised in private parlor meetings, which Arnold hosted. Rabbi Hier became Arnold’s personal link to the Los Angeles Jewish community which is mostly democratic, as is Hier. From a business perspective, Arnold’s involvement with the Holocaust center opened all the doors for Arnold in the cinema industry and the money he donated to the Center is a small amount compared to what he has made on his movies and other products. According to an article written by Margaret Talev from the Bee Capitol Bureau and published May1, 2004, she wrote: "…His (Arnold’s) gratitude to Hier runs deeper than that, however. As Schwarzenegger’s star rose, the rabbi provided him with key advice and opportunities that eased his acceptance in Jewish circles, Hollywood and finally, politics." California is the home of more than one million American Jews who have forged a strong network and fellowship based on their religion and the fact that they are living in America, but have not assimilated themselves as other groups coming as immigrants, but retained their "Jewishness." Some people might not know that both Democratic Senators from California, Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer, are Jewish.
DECISIONS ARE MADE IN THE BACK ROOMS
As a result, the United States and other nations issued a ban that the former UN Secretary-General and now President of Austria, was to be denied entry to the United States and other nations. During his six year term, the governments of the nations in the world shunned and isolated him. Waldheim had been invited to the wedding of Arnold and Maria, but was unable to attend. Arnold had also personally met with Waldheim before his wedding and posed for pictures with the Waldheim's. The explosive news about Waldheim’s past had just been released a few weeks prior to the wedding. Jewish guests at the wedding were shocked when Arnold proposed a toast to honor Waldheim and they reported the incident to Jewish authorities. It did not take long for a firestorm to develop and Arnold was attacked by the Jewish community for supporting a Nazi war criminal. It was then that Rabbi Marvin Hier came to Arnold’s defense and he informed the Jewish community that first of all, this incident took place because Arnold is politically naïve and that there was no ideology behind the toasting. Secondly, Arnold had not understood the depth of the allegations against Waldheim. With a Jewish heavyweight like Rabbi Hier defending Arnold, the Jewish community backed down and Arnold was saved from being punished. For the next few years individual Jews were raising questions about Arnold being born in Austria and that his father had served in the German Army during World War II. As the pressure built, it started to hurt Arnold’s image. In 1990, Arnold went to Rabbi Hier and asked for help. Could he have the Wiesenthal Center investigate his father’s involvement in World War II? Jewish researchers found that Gustav Schwarzenegger joined Hitler’s Sturmabteilungen (brown shirts) in 1939. Prior to this, in 1938, he had tried to join the Nazi party but was not formally inducted until 1941. Later he was transferred to the German Army and served in a military police function in Austria but he and his unit were not found to be involved in any atrocities against Jews. The report released by the Wiesenthal center cleared Arnold’s name and the war issue regarding over his father was laid to rest. (His father died in 1972) MORE SPIN CONTROL
It is clear to any knowledgeable person that Rabbi Hier and the hierarchy of the Jewish leadership, not only in California but also worldwide, had made the decision that Schwarzenegger was the man they had selected to become the next Governor of California. The media was told to go easy on Arnold and play down the "damning" news about his old lifestyle of sexual encounters, particularly about the "groping of women." FACTS AND QUOTES In the same release from JTA on October 8, 2003, after the election had taken place and Governor Davis had conceded to Schwarzenegger, the following was reported:
PAYBACK TIME In the early 1990’s, an Austrian teacher contacted the Wiesenthal Center about a violent video game becoming popular with school children in which a concentration camp manager scores points for killing Turks. The Wiesenthal Center enlisted Arnold’s help in pressuring Austrian officials to prohibit children from bringing the video game to school.
Once Arnold was elected as governor, he assembled a 68 member transition team. Among those chosen was Rabbi Abraham Cooper from the Wiesenthal Center. Cooper stated in a press release that he had a number of issues to bring up to the transition team:
At the swearing in ceremony as Governor of California, the Roman Catholic Schwarzenegger had Rabbi Hier give the invocation. On May 9, 2004, Governor Schwarzenegger flew to Israel, despite the fact that the State Department had issued grave warnings to Americans regarding traveling to any country in the Middle East at that time. The main purpose for his trip was to participate in the ground breaking ceremony for The Center for Human Dignity and Museum of Tolerance in Jerusalem. The $200 million project, which owes much of its budget to Schwarzenegger’s fund-raising efforts, is the most ambitious effort to date by Rabbi Hier’s Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. The Governor laid the cornerstone, then made an emotional speech and paid tribute to the "six million Jews" who perished in the Holocaust. Rabbi Marvin Hier, was also present in Israel and he made this statement, "Friends don’t come when everyone is here; friends come when comfort is needed." Hier called the governor, "A true friend of the State of Israel, who defied the State Department’s warning against travel to Israel." In the morning Arnold had attended a reception for Israeli companies doing business in California. Later, in the evening, at a private meeting at the King David Hotel, Arnold said that he felt it was his duty to help spread tolerance around the world. The governor had spent only 24 hours in Israel before he started his flight back to the United States. WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU? We are now going to look at the Middle East. It is important that you understand that American policies must first be approved by the World Jewish leadership and the government of the State of Israel. Thus, to understand events in Iraq, the high prices of fuel at the service stations, etc, it all begins and ends with Jerusalem. OIL, JUST OIL! The current civilization in which we are living is based upon oil. Oil is not only refined into gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, but also into plastic which is used in almost all manufactured products. Our roads are paved with asphalt, which is a mixture of oil and gravel. Electricity is generated by oil burning power plants. Some power plants are powered with hydro power (water falls), natural gas, coal and nuclear power. However, if the oil burning power plants stop, there is a shortage of electricity. Oil is used for lubrication in all combustion engines and in all electric motors, including ball bearings. If oil was not pumped and distributed, our entire lifestyle would collapse and with that, the world economy. Trucks, trains, ships and airplanes are all powered by oil. If they stopped running, food production and distribution would stop as the normal supermarket in the United States stocks only a four day supply. Most families in the United States have food to last for only a few days, and then they would run out. Foods in freezers would be lost since electricity would be cut off. If there were a total stop of oil production, it would only take a few weeks before all oil products were used up, and then there would be a famine on a worldwide scale. Man has built a civilization on sand. Matthew 7:24-29 WARS AND RUMORS OF WAR Jesus spoke to us that in the last days there will be many wars and rumors of war. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:4-8 Nations go to war over the issue of oil. When protesters decried the American invasion of Iraq with, "No blood for oil," they did not understand the very fundamentals of thinking in political and military circles, "blood will be spilt for oil!" Oil is crucial to the very existence of a nation. If the oil spigot is turned off, THERE WILL BE WAR! Until the discovery of the combustion engine, the world civilization was built upon a different foundation. In the early days, wind power and oars drove the ships. Horses, mules, elephants, and oxen were the power for transportation and war. There was no global trade to the extent it is now; instead, food and consumer goods were produced locally, and thus nations were fairly independent from each other, except when it came to certain items like metals, salt, spices, etc. Fuel for cooking and heating came from wood, grass, coal, etc. Light was produced by using vegetable oils and candles. GOD IS THE CREATOR AND HE PLACED THE OIL IN THE WORLD The Bible makes it very clear that before God commenced the creation, He designed it to the smallest detail. Reading the first chapter of Genesis tells us that nothing was left to chance. Moreover, each human being was carefully created and placed, not only in a physical location on the earth, but also in a specific point in time. Here are some powerful verses in the Bible which bear this out: Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:1-8; Galatians 1:15 and in Romans: Romans 8:28-31 If we briefly look at the locations of known oil fields, we find the following. There are 40 super giant oil fields in the world (as of 2003), each containing five billion barrels of oil. They are located in the following regions of the world: 26 of them are located in the Arabian-Iranian Sedimentary basin in the Persian Gulf region, two in the United States, two in Russia, two in Mexico, one in Libya, one in Algeria, one in Venezuela and two in China. Then there are 280 world class giant fields scattered in places like the Atlantic Ocean outside Norway and England, Angola, Gabon and Nigeria in Africa, Ecuador in South America, Canada, etc. The 40 super giant oil fields and the 280 world class giant oil fields contain 80% of the known oil in the world. These 280 world class giant oil fields contain between 14-16% of the world’s oil reserves. 1Note that there are no known oil reserves in Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Israel. Thus, the coming world dictator, known as the Antichrist, is forced to control large parts of the world in order to reign out of Jerusalem and rule through the Jewish people who have rejected the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Only born-again believers in Christ can really understand events in the world as we approach the end times. Look at the following references in the Bible of this satanic world ruler, who is known as the "Man of Sin, Son of perdition, and the Beast." Daniel 9:27; 11:36-39; Matthew 24:15; II Thessalonians 2:1-12; Revelation 13:1-18. Revelation 11:1-13
THE PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF OIL The first workable combustion engine was designed in France in 1862, but it was not until 1878 that a practical engine was built in Germany, which could be used in the production of an automobile. John D. Rockefeller (1839-1937) was a descendant of European Jews who had changed their names and become Christians (Baptists). In 1863, at the age of 24, John had moved to Cleveland and formed a corporation, with Maurice B. Clark and Samuel Andrews, which operated a refinery. At this time the greatest demand was for kerosene which was used for heating and lighting. By 1865, Rockefeller had bought Clark’s interest and in 1867 he brought in Henry M. Flagler. In 1870, the name of the company was changed to Standard Oil. Through ruthless competition and hostile takeovers, Standard Oil had managed by 1880 to either buy or destroy all competition so it controlled 90 to 95% of all oil produced in the United States. The World Jewish leadership at this time was in full control of all international banking, ruling it from the banking house of the Rothschild’s. They were keenly aware that by getting an early control over the oil industry; it would give them power in the future to dictate to the nations policies, which would facilitate their project of building the State of Israel. In 1882 the Standard Oil Company and affiliated companies that were engaged in producing, refining and marketing oil were combined in the Standard Oil Trust. Some 40 corporations were held by this trust, creating a virtual monopoly in the United States. In 1899, Standard Oil Company was incorporated in New Jersey as a holding company. Rockefeller not only controlled the market in the U.S., but in a number of locations in the world. At this time none of the Arab nations existed in the Middle East, and Africa was divided into colonies and held by European countries. In 1906 the U.S. Government brought suit against Standard Oil Company under the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, and in 1911 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Standard Oil had to divest itself of its major holdings, 33 companies in all. John D. Rockefeller was part of the World Jewish leadership although he lost his grip on the monopoly. A number of smaller oil companies were formed from the forced breakup. In 1931, Standard Oil Company of New York merged with Vacuum Oil Company, which in 1966 became known as Mobil Oil. Standard Oil of Indiana absorbed Standard Oil of Nebraska in 1939 and Standard Oil of Kansas in 1948, and became known as Amoco Corporation. Standard Oil of California acquired Standard Oil of Kentucky in 1961, and was renamed Chevron in 1984. Standard Oil Company of New Jersey in 1972 changed its name to Exxon. British Petroleum Company (BP) purchased Standard Oil of Ohio in 1987. Atlantic Richfield was another spin off from the Rockefeller Trust, and it merged with Atlantic Refining in 1966, and then it acquired Sinclair Oil and this new corporation is now known as ARCO. Another spinoff from the original Standard Oil was Pennzoil. Texaco was founded in 1902 by a former employee of Standard Oil and originally was only going to operate in Texas, but then went nationwide and then worldwide. Shell Oil Company was founded by the British Jew, Marcus Samuel (1853-1927) and is now known as Royal Dutch/Shell, one of the world’s largest corporations and operating in more than 100 nations. When World War II broke out in 1939, drilling for oil, shipping and refining was all in the hands of Western oil companies, controlled by international Jews from different nations. Even the oil production in the Soviet Union was at the mercy of the Western companies since they had helped to develop the Russian oil fields. Behind the scenes, production quotas and prices were set for the these companies, which were supposed to be competing against each other, but that was not what was happening. There is no "real competition" in the oil industry. Companies are buying or swapping service stations like it was a game of Monopoly, and the refineries are producing gasoline which can be sold by any retailer – the name on a service station makes no difference. THE STORY OF THE VALERO CORPORATION I am sharing the history of this company so that the reader will have knowledge of how things are done in the oil industry, and why our prices at the pumps are so high. There was a corporation in Texas by the name of Lo Vaca Gathering Company which was a subsidiary of the giant natural gas corporation Coastal States Gas Corporation. These two companies had contracts to supply natural gas to utility companies in the State of Texas. Due to manipulation of the market, including cutting back production of gas in order to jack up the prices, natural gas supplies were too short. (Compare this with the manipulation of production of electricity to California in 2001 when electrical rates sky rocketed and the Enron scandal). Lo Vaca Gathering Company got sued, and after six years of litigation, in 1980, a $1.6 billion settlement was reached and with the separation of assets became known as VALERO ENGERGY CORPORATION. At that time it was the largest corporate spin-off in U.S. history. In 1981 Valero started to divest itself and purchased a small crude oil refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas. One billion dollars was invested in this refinery to bring it up to environmental standards. By 1984 this refurbished refinery was up and running. In 1997 Valero merged its natural gas related operations with the giant California utility company, Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) Due to legal maneuvering, Valero spun off its refining and marketing operations as a new independent company, but retained the Valero name. In the same year the new Valero Corporation purchased Basis Petrolium,Inc. and with four refineries, two in Texas and two in Louisiana, it became the largest independent refining and marketing company, with the capacity of 530,000 barrels per day. In 1998 Valero purchased Mobil’s Paulsboro refinery in the Northeastern part of the United States, with an output of 735,000 barrels per day. In the year of 2000, Valero broke into the California market, by purchasing the Exxon/Mobil Corporation’s refinery in Benicia, which had a capacity of 165,000 barrels per day and produced 10% of California’s fuel demand. With this purchase came 270 retail store service stations, and 80 company owned service stations. These stations were then switched over to the Valero brand name. In June 2001 Valero got a lease agreement with the El Paso Corporation with its 115,000 barrel per day refinery in Corpus Christy with the option to buy it at a later date. Also two asphalt refineries were purchased from the Huntway Refining Company, one located in Wilmington and the other in Benicia, California.On December 31, 2001, Valero merged with the San Antonio based Ultramar Diamond Shamrock Corporation. This merger was completed in seven months and put the following brand names under Valero, Diamond, Total, Ultramar, Beacon and Shamrock. This purchase made Valero into one of the three biggest fuel companies in the United States. By 2002 Valero employed around 20,000 persons with a $4.5 billion income, with the capacity to produce 2 million barrels per day. Valero had now become a national corporation with outlets in all states, including Canada. A total of 4,100 service stations carried one or the other of its brand names. It also operated a 3,600 mile pipeline network, formerly known as Shamrock Logistics L.P. In July 2003 Valero purchased Orion Refining Corporation in Louisiana, 15 miles west of New Orleans. In 2004 Valero purchased El Paso Corporation’s 315,000 barrels per day refinery in Aruba, an island nation located in the Caribbean Sea, north of the coast of Venezuela, having a self governing government and part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. As of 2004 Valero has 15 refineries with a capacity of 2.4 million barrels per day. For many years I was a loyal customer of the Beacon stations in California, which always sold gasoline below the national brand names. Suddenly Beacon stations started to disappear, and they were converted to several different brand names, like Tesoro, Flyer’s or some national brand names. The low prices disappeared. Some Beacon stations were converted to Valero stations and for a long time I wondered what had happened. It was not until I investigated the Valero Corporation for this newsletter, that I understood the truth. When you buy gasoline it really doesn’t matter what brand it is sold under, there are only a limited number of refineries and the gasoline is marketed under a brand name and the price is exorbitantly raised. The consumer is truly extorted and the politicians are not going to do anything about it. The oil lobby is too strong and has a lot of money with which to buy the political leaders.THE WORLD JEWISH LEADERS LOSE PARTIAL POWER In order to create the state of Israel, the Jews had to let the nations in the Middle East become independent, which had been held captive by Turkey. 2 For the next 30 years almost all colonies became independent: India, Indonesia and those in Africa, etc. It did not take long for the new native governments to either take over or buy out the drilling of oil and some refining from the Western Oil Companies. Oil production has three legs: pumping, refining and distribution. Oil pumping was lost for the Western companies in all former colonies. However, since most of the oil consumed was by the West the third world nations had to depend upon Western companies to get the oil to the market, or they would not get paid. It was a marriage "made in hell." REVOLT AGAINST THE JEWS The Arabs realized that unless they could have a united front, the Jews would play them and control them so in 1960, a group of oil producing nations banded together against the World Jewish leaders to avoid exploitation. Government delegations from Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela met to form an organization, which was to become known as Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries or for short "OPEC." In January 1961 it was formally constituted and its headquarters was set up in Geneva, Switzerland. More member states were added: Qatar in 1961, Indonesia and Libya in 1962, Abu Dhabi in 1967, Algeria in 1969, Nigeria in 1971, Ecuador in 1973 and Gabon in 1975. OPEC headquarters was moved in 1965 from Geneva to the capital of Austria, Vienna. In the beginning there was a lot of bickering and disunity in OPEC, but by its 35th conference in 1973, OPEC raised oil prices by 70%. When the Yom Kippur War broke out in 1973, Israel was attacked on its most holy day by forces from Egypt and Syria. With a military airlift from the United States, where weapons and supplies were flown in around the clock, the Israeli Defense Forces routed the Syrians and the Egyptians. Syria lost the Golan Heights, Jordan lost the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and Egypt lost the Sinai Peninsula. OPEC met that December in Tehran and struck back and raised their oil prices 130 % to punish the Western nations who had come to the rescue of Israel. This caused an economic war and the World Jewish leaders retaliated. The Western governments were instructed to use alternative fuels: coal, nuclear power and drilling for more oil in the West. Oil producing nations which were not members of OPEC were asked to increase their production and by 1982 the back of OPEC had been broken. If they wanted to sell oil, it had to be at much lower prices. OPEC had internal problems and began to fall apart and it looked like the World Jewish leaders had crushed them. The war in Iraq changed the equation, and OPEC is now back in power. Since 1982, oil consumption has risen dramatically. China and other third world nations are consuming more oil as their economies grow. With a very tight market, OPEC decided to cut back their production and in no time oil prices rose from being around $20 per barrel to $40 per barrel. Current gasoline prices in England are now over $5.00 per gallon and in the United States it rose to over $2.00 per gallon. A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM JOHN S.
