“MARY LYNNE”

A Testimony From Her Mother, Rosemarie Nuelle

When Fred and I were married in 1950, we wanted a large family. But, I had a sickness inside of a streptococcus peritonitis which always makes you sterile.  So, we prayed and cried out to God for a baby for five years. Then, my husband went on a retreat and walking in the woods, he heard the Lord say we would have many children. We finally had Mary Lynne; then John, three and a half years later; then Christine, three years later; then twenty months later, Kay and ten months later, Carol. In between, I had three miscarriages. We were so happy in St. Louis for 26 years. My husband was transferred to Effingham to start a typesetting plant. We were very happy when Mary Lynne married a boy from Indiana.

I had found the Lord in 1979. Then my husband became an alcoholic for about 15 years. We had been in the Catholic church and our children went to a Catholic school. After Mary Lynne got married, she was saved. Then, she led all my other children to the Lord. Then Fred, my husband, was delivered from alcohol. My children, thank God, are all working for the Lord. Our pastor was sent here by God to raise up children. Carol, (our youngest) is the High School leader over about 90 youngsters. I teach fifth and sixth grades. Our church is not as Pentecostal as I’d like.  It’s more geared to youth (contemporary) but that’s where God has planted us.

Fred and I had just been up to see Mary Lynne’s new baby, Erica. Sarah was two years old. As we left her standing in front of her house waving to us, we didn’t say so then, but we both had this terrible feeling that something was going to happen to her. She had finished her schooling full time to be a nurse, worked at a small hospital and had two babies, all in two years. She took her final exams to be an RN in January 1984. Then on July 7, 1984, she returned to work and on her way home, on a blacktop back road, a man driving a pickup truck ran through a stop sign and broadsided her small car.

Her dear friend, Connie, got the news and she thought she heard the Lord say, “Mary Lynne is in heaven.” Then we found out that she had no pulse at first. She has brain stem damage. She was taken to the hospital where she worked. I stayed at the hospital in the ICU for a week. I would go up to Culver and stay with her two girls for a week and cook for her husband. Then, his mom would come and I would go to the hospital in South Bend for a week and live in ICU, then home to my other family. At this time, my husband was still drinking, but the Lord was with me all the time. He kept me going by letting me witness or pray for other people who had loved ones there. I was in a “name it and claim it” church and felt like it was my fault that Mary Lynne didn’t come out of the coma, because my faith wasn’t strong enough.

But my faith was strong. I would read the Bible to her and sing to her until I was exhausted. She was in a coma for six months in a hospital, then a special place in a nursing home where they gave her therapy. I think she knew me at first. Then, she had a grand mall seizure and they couldn’t sit her up. Her eyes never did focus. I felt like God said. “Let her rest until her miracle.”

A week or so after the accident, they came in and told me her brain was irreversibly damaged. I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and I began to pray so hard, “She’ll live and not die, and declare the works of the Lord.” Then such a peace came over me and I heard Him say, “Mary Lynne will see her children’s children.” (Psalm 128) That’s what I’ve been hanging onto plus some people have had visions in the night of Jesus there talking to Mary Lynne. One day I was coming home to Effingham from seeing her and crying and asking the Lord if He was with her. I had a cassette that was a preaching tape. I had put music over it but had never listened to the tape. When I put it in to play, I heard the testimony of the man, Jimmy Maynard, instead of music.  He said, “I want to tell you something, when I had that motorcycle accident and in a coma, I was not in that bed. I was with Jesus!” I knew God was giving me that message.

Then a friend and I were at an End Time Handmaidens Convention. She saw a vision of a girl (she was 29 then) in a hospital bed on the platform and saw an angel anointing her forehead, thumbs and toes with oil. When we got home, God told my friend, Penny, that she had been anointed in the spirit, but now we should go up and anoint her with oil. We did and when we got home, Penny laid on the floor praying and for 45 minutes saw God’s hands working down Mary Lynne’s spine. Penny is a very quiet shy girl. God showed her things like that but she always felt, why would God show her things, so she was very quiet about it.

There was a girl here about the same time, 1984/1985, who was blind and lying in a fetal position, with legs like pipes and she heard a voice over her right shoulder say, “Arise my child and walk.” She got up totally healed and walked down the hall. Her mom lifted her gown and looked at their legs and they were normal.

I haven’t been able to get up there for a couple of years, but the last time, I lifted up the sheet to look at Mary Lynne’s legs. They were getting small, and I drew in a deep breath and then heard the Lord say, “Remember the girl that had legs like pipes?” Things like that have helped me keep my faith. I know she’s coming back. I have this feeling inside me that in the middle of all of the chaos and rioting, miracles will happen beyond our imagination. I had a prophesy in church (Pentecostal) about five years ago. “You will walk through all the chaos and rioting and they won’t harm you.” I think that’s when the knowledge of the glory of the Lord will happen. It will be on us. (Romans 8) I’m hoping that is when we will get our miracle! I believe God’s remnant will “see Him as He is...” as the Bible says, The Kingdom of God. I hope this year, 2008.

Seven means finished in the Bible and eight means new beginnings. There is no conclusion to this story, yet. But, I just re-read The Flaming Sword. I realized that your new newsletters will be having testimonies, prayer requests, etc. I think that is why God had me write Pastor Torell that letter. I’ve longed to have people pray for Mary Lynne. We are, some are, but then they forget. I believe her miracle will be on television. I think God will show up but the world won’t see Him yet, only His people. Mary Lynne’s two daughters need prayer too. When I had them here every summer as children, they both asked Jesus into their hearts. They had no Christian upbringing except when they were here. Sarah is 26 and Erica 24. Sarah is a chef and Erica is working her way through nursing school. They live in South Bend. I planned on going to see Mary Lynne twice last summer and ended up in the hospital instead for high blood pressure. I thought maybe God didn’t want me to see her now the way she is. She was such a beautiful girl, talented—piano, singing. She loved being a nurse. She read the Bible to her patients and encouraged them.

Sarah Erica

I’m going to give you the three scriptures God gave me when this happened. I was worried that she would get so busy working (she was going to do two jobs) that she would get away from God. Her husband had been out of work for a year but now he has his own business. Since I had been in the doctrine of “You don’t have to be sick or poor, etc.” I had to repent because when I got to her house to baby-sit (it was so hard to do) I cried out to God and said, “God, I am going to pin you to the wall until you tell me why this happened.” He gave me these three scripture verses:

“The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.” (Isaiah 57:1-2)

God will get so much glory when Mary Lynne comes to.

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-6)

“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ…” (1 Peter 1:7)

I had no idea of why God wanted me to write. I would love to be able to visit your church. I’ve always been interested in prophesy and God has me write letters to the editor filled with Scripture. I am a Watchman on the wall. I will pray for your church and try to send some support. I’ve learned so much from Pastor Torell.

God bless you all and keep you safe. Isaiah says, “He will cover us with His cloud.”
