The
Corner
Dear Friends,
It’s been a couple hectic months in the
ministry and that is why you haven’t received a newsletter lately. Even
though there was some sickness, the workload never lets up, and with the
weekly webcast that was started four months ago, there is even more work
to do. Therefore, I am asking you to pray as we press on, that the Lord
would send us more able bodied workers to fill the needs we have for web
design, video production and editing, desktop publishing, research
assistance and counseling. All of these tasks are currently being handled
but help is still needed because of the heavy load. As we work each day I
am reminded of Jesus’ words, “I know thy works…for thou hast a little
strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.”
(Revelation 3:8) There are many hurting people in the world who are
touched in some way by this ministry through the website, printed
material, audio, video and in person. I personally didn’t join the
ministry to become rich and famous but to answer God’s call on my life and
continue doing the works of Jesus. Please uphold us in prayer, we value it
greatly. There is much power that is manifested when believers fast and
bombard heaven night and day with requests but also with praises.
“Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them
that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient
toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever
follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice
evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is
the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit.
Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify
you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be
preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is
he that calleth you, who also will do it. Brethren, pray for us.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:14-25)
Many of us take our health for granted, and
when we get sick, we remember what it was to be in good health and are
very appreciative afterwards. Pastor John said the following a number of
years ago, “No Body – No Ministry.” Essentially we can’t do a thing if we
are sick or removed from the earth by death. It is therefore important to
take care of your body so that you can be productive for yourself and the
Lord. We had a reminder of this in the last couple of months as people in
the ministry have suffered from ailments like strokes, colds and even
depression. We happen to be including an exhortation by Carole West on the
importance of joy in our lives and what can happen if you lose it. I
encourage you to read it and let it minister to your soul.
May God richly bless you today,
Charles Thorell
