WHAT DOES THE RESURRECTION MEAN TO US?

Despite the fact that the disciples of Jesus had walked with Him for some 3.5 years they did not understand the suffering He had to embrace - Matt. 26:31-46 - neither did they believe that if He died that He would be resurrected again. Matt. 16:21-22

When Jews was arrested by the Jewish leadership, it OFFENDED all the disciples and they all forsook Jesus and fled - Matt. 26:47-56

The apostle Peter tried to see what would happen to Jesus, but when he was confronted he lied and fled. Matt. 26-69-75

When Jesus died on the cross, all hope was crushed in the disciples and as far as they were concerned, it was all over.  Mark 16: 9-14

The devastation was total among the apostles and the 70 others, and only Jesus Himself could convince them that the will of God had been done - Luke 24:13-32

The first to believe were some of the women - who then spoke to the apostles, which brought out Peter and another apostle. John 20: 1 -18

Then Jesus showed Himself to all the apostles several times - John 20:9-31 Jesus continued to show Himself to the apostles for 40 days - Acts 1:1-3

Final instructions were now given what Jesus wanted them to do and the GREAT COMMISSION was now established: Matt 28:16-20  But before the disciples could begin their work, they had to experience two events, His ascension from the earth - Acts 1:4-14: and THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT Acts 2:1-4

THE RESURRECTION GAVE THEM HOPE BUT IT WAS THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT GAVE THEM POWER AND THE ANOINTING!  Acts 4:1-31

When you were born again, saved, you embraced the resurrection of Jesus and believed in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God - Romans 10:8-13
But have you also been baptized in the FIRE OF THE HOLY GHOST? John 7:37-39

Without the power of the Holy Ghost very little shall be accomplished! John 15.1-5

All you have to do is to ask Jesus and He will give you the power of the Holy Spirit, He will give you the Holy Spirit Himself - Luke 11:9-13
