PASTOR'S OUTLINE
ARE WE LIVING WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED? July 12,1998 As a church God has been giving us many teachings and revelations over the past year. Each message has been a stepping stone to a closer walk with God and more faith in God. It is now time to review the messages God has given us and see if we are following the instructions He gave us. 1. THE OFFICE OF A PRIEST (Rev. 1:1-6) Preached September 7, 1997 (RLJ-579) ARE YOU A SAMARITAN PRIEST OR A GENUINE BORN AGAIN WASHED IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS, FREE OF IDOLATRY, OBEDIENT PRIEST? 2 Kings 17:24-41 2. FAITH PRAISE AND WORSHIP REVIEW: THE OFFICE OF A PRIEST -
RLJ-579 It was Jesus Himself who gave two titles
(positions) to each believer in Christ, KINGS and PRIESTS. THE LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD BEGAN AFTER THE EXODUS IN EGYPT AND CEASED TO EXIST WHEN JESUS DIED ON CALVARY! Hebrews 7:4-12 JESUS IS AFTER THE ORDER OF MELCHISEDEC! Hebrews 7:13-28 Jesus is our high priest REPRESENTING THE SECOND COVENANT! Hebrews 8:1-7
The first covenant is null and void since the death of Jesus on
the cross, and will never again reinstated Hebrews 8:8-13 The Bible is clear, JESUS WAS THE PERFECT LAMB OF GOD (John 1:29) WHO HAS ONCE AND FOR ALL TAKEN AWAY MAN'S SIN AND BECAME THE FINAL PERFECT SACRIFICE! THERE ARE NOW NO MORE BLOOD SACRIFICES! Hebr. 9:1-26
There is no difference if the believer is a man or a woman, or what nationality the believer is, ALL BELIEVERS IN CHRIST ARE ONE IN JESUS CHRIST! Gal.3:22-29
DUTIES OF A PRIEST UNDER THE SECOND COVENANT 2. To be a teacher of God'3 Word - Deut.6:1-9; 17:8-13 3. To worship God in Spirit and in Truth and together with other believers in Christ and worship God with them - Isaiah 6:1-7; John 4:23-24; Rev.7:9-17; 19:1-6 4. Jesus Christ ARE YOU SAVED? ARE YOU UPHOLDING YOUR OFFICE AS A PRIEST? If not, ask God for forgiveness today and seek Him in forgiveness at the altars!
As born again believers in Christ - John 1: 12-13; should our first obligation be to please God or to please people? Hebrews 11:6 From the very beginning of the First Covenant, God stated that his people were to work six days a week, but the 7th day of the week was a day of rest and worship. Exodus 20:8-11 The third commandment was so important to God, that he declared that any one of his children who broke it would be put to death. Exodus 31:12-18 The prophet Jeremiah was told by God, that if the people would hallow the Sabbath, the blessings would flow from God. Jeramiah 17:19-27 When Israel did not observe the Sabbath day, God caused their minds to be polluted to murder their own children. Ezek.20:12-31 Worship from his created beings is what God requires. All through the Bible it is pointed out that this is the norm in heaven and should be the some on the earth. Rev. 7:11-17 Satan craves worship so much that he offered Jesus everything in return for worship. Matthew 4:8-11 Worship and praise can only come from believers in Christ. John 4:6-24, Rom. 8:5-11 All unbelievers are spiritually dead, I Cor.2: 14; and unable to worship and praise the Lord. Eph.2:1-6; 2 Cor.4:1-4 During the time of the Book of Acts, unbelievers were not present when the believers had praise and worship services. Acts 2:1-4; 4:23-32 Instead, the believers in Christ moved out into the communities where they preached and evangelized the unsaved. Acts 2:5-40 Once a person had been born again, he was brought into the fellowship. Acts 2:41-47 Our churches of today have mixed up the concept
of worship and evangelism. Revival and awakening will only come when God's people, not the unbelievers, seek the Lord. Joel 2:11-19
