THE LIFE OF A CREATIVE CHRISTIAN
IS THERE NOT A CAUSE?  

OCTOBER 4,1998

Man is created in the image of God, who is the Creator. Genesis 1:26-27
Definition: Creative - able to create, productive, inventive 
God intended man to be creative - Genesis 1:28-31

A creative Christian does not sit around waiting for something to happen, instead HE MAKES THINGS  HAPPEN!

David was supernaturally selected by God. I Samuel 16:1-13

David was a busy person, as a young boy he had not only learned the trade of being a shepherd, he had also trained himself as an accomplished musician, he had trained to become a warrior, and he was also a skilled business man. Verse 18

When there was a need, the people around the king knew who to call upon. v. 14-23

David did not let his high position get to his head, when the king went to war and did not select him to go with him, David went back to his old job as a sheepherder. 1 Samuel 17:12-15

David was content to bring supplies to his brothers in the army of king Saul.
1 Sam. 17:17-22

When he arrived at the front, he did not know there was a crisis – 1 Samuel 17: 1 -11

Being A CREATIVE MAN OF GOD, he at once became involved - v.23-27

CREATIVE PEOPLE are always criticized - v.28

David responded - IS THERE NOT A CAUSE? v.29

David said to the king - I will go and take care of that Philistine - v.30-32

When he was told by king Saul that he did not measure up, David recited for the king what God had done in his life - v.33-36

David did not trust in his own power, but BELIEVED IN GOD! v.37

David did not use the armor of the king, instead he used the weapons he had trained on and which had been used by God. v.38-4

When Goliath cursed David and tried to intimidate him, David responded in the power of God. David refused to step down to the level of Goliath. v.41-48

Calmly David used his simple weapon and brought down the giant. v.49-5

CREATIVE PEOPLE INSPIRE OTHERS INTO ACTION - v. 52-58

Most likely, if David had not risen to the occasion, he would never had become the king of Israel, never been in the bloodline of Jesus, and someone else would have taken his place. What about you? Are you living a life of creativity? Or is your life dictated by circumstances?

When Jesus fed the multitude, he used what the disciples had! Matthew 15:29-38
