THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT 

November 8, 1998

So you have been saved (born again) and you are happy that some day when you leave this earth, you will be taken to heaven by God's holy angels. In the meantime, you have to live on this earth with all its tribulations. What does the Bible tell us to do, while we are lingering on this planet?

John the Baptist told us that Jesus was baptizing with fire: Matt. 3:11 This had been prophesied 800 years before Christ - Joel 2:27-29.  Before the cross Jesus spoke about it - John 7:37-39.  After the resurrection Jesus stated what he was going to do - Acts 1:4-8 AND IT DID HAPPEN! Acts 2:14

Jesus had a five fold ministry!

1. Jesus had total dominion over Satan's kingdom and exercised this dominion by casting out demons - Mark 5:1-19; Matt.17:14-21
2. Jesus knew that without a body a human being could not live on this earth, So God provided healing for the human body. Luke 13:10-17;14:11-6; Mark 5:25-34
3. Performing miracles when needed- Matt. 14:22-33; Mark 8:1-9
4. Raising people from the dead when God told him. Mark 5:35-43; John 11:1-44
5. Teaching and bringing in new disciples - Luke 14:7-14; John. 15:1-8

WHAT ABOUT THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST TODAY?
During his earthly ministry, Jesus transferred his SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY to the twelve apostles! Matt. 10:1;7-8; Luke 9:1-2

This spiritual authority was also given to the 70 others. Luke 10:1-3; 9:17-20

THE SAME SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY WAS TRANSFERRED TO ALL BELIEVERS THROUGH THE AGES UNTIL THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST! Matt. 28:18-20

CAN WE FIND THIS IN THE BOOK OF ACTS? YES, INDEED!
Acts 3:1-13; HEALING! Acts 9:32-42; HEALING AND RAISING A DEAD PERSON Acts 13:6-12; POWER MIRACLE! Acts 14:8-10; HEALING! Acts 16:16-27; CASTING OUT A DEMON!

ARE YOU FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT? DO YOU HAVE A FIVE FOLD MINISTRY LIKE JESUS AND THE APOSTLES HAD? Acts 19:1-7.

God is not a respecter of persons. What God does for one believer, he will do for us all. Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11

There is only one requirement from you, YOU MUST ASK IN THE NAME OF JESUS AND YOU MUST LOVE HIM AND YOU MUST ABIDE IN HIM! John 14:9-16; 15:1-5
