TO KEEP
YOUR FAITH IN GOD
January 3,
1999
Most Christians have a
"sunshine faith," as long as all things are going well, they
have faith in God and their joy is great. But the moment
something unpleasant happens, the faith is gone and with it the JOY OF THE
LORD! James 1:1-12
The generation that was
alive with Moses and lived in Egypt experienced ten plagues that
God sent over Egypt:
1. Turned water into blood - Exodus 7:7-25
2. Frogs upon the land - Exodus 8:5-8
3. Lice upon all people - Exodus 8: 16-19
4. Swarms of flies - Exodus 8:20-24
5. Cattle disease - Exodus 9:1-7
6. Boils on the Egyptian people - Exodus 9:8-11
7. Hail striking the land - Exodus 9: 19-26
8. Locust covering the land - Exodus 10:4-15
9. Darkness covering the land - Exodus10:21-23
10. Death of all first born - Exodus 12:28-33
God knew that the people did
not have faith in Him, and thus he had to send them out into the
wilderness to keep them from going back to Egypt! Exodus 13:17-22
The same demons of unbelief that attacked these people are today
plaguing the Church of Jesus Christ.
I Corinthians 10:1-14
The people of Israel were
doing fine until they encountered the first negative pressure Exodus
14:8-12
Their sin: CHOOSING
SATAN AND EGYPT OVER GOD AND THE PROMISED LAND!
But God chose to deliver them despite their unbelief. Exodus
14;13-31
People with unbelief cannot praise God before they have seen the
victory. God wants you to learn to praise Him before "your
Red Sea" is crossed. Exodus 15: 1-6, 20-21
Their joy lasted a very short time, every time an obstacle showed
up, the people sank into depression, anger and rejection of the
Lord.
Obstacle 1: Bitter water - Exodus 15:22-27
Obstacle 2: Hunger - Exodus 16:1-4; 10-7
Obstacle 3: Lack of water - Numbers 20:1-13
Obstacle 4: Could not find Moses - Exodus 32:1-8
Then the people committed the ultimate unbelief - Numbers 13:25-33, 14:1-35
You must make a choice. Either you are going to trust God or you will trust in the lies
of the Devil?
Which choice are you making in your daily life?
Matt. 6:24-34
