PASTORS OUTLINE THE SPIRITUAL LAW OF FORGIVENESS February 28, 1990 To forgive others and be merciful is not an option for a believer in Christ. IT IS DEMANDED AND EXPECTED BY GOD! This is what the apostle Peter found out when he asked Jesus how many times he was obligated to forgive. Matthew 18:21-35 God is a God of judgment - Isaiah 30:18; Revelation 19:1-3, 20:10-15 God is a God of mercy - Ephesians 2:4-10; Psalm 103:1-18 When a person asks God
to save him, it is done through repentance and believing on the
finished work of Jesus on the cross. At this time the person is
proclaiming that he is guilty of all his sins (Romans 3:23), that
he should really be put to death for his sins (Romans 6:23), but he
Is calling upon Jesus to pardon and forgive his
horrible sins. Romans 10:9.13 When the request Is granted by the
Father in heaven, it is a grace package from God, and included in
this grace package is the demand that the forgiven man/woman
must in turn forgive all others. Jesus has clearly set forth
his policies in the kingdom of God. Matthew 6:1-9 Jesus has very clearly set forth his platform that his kingdom is built upon. Jesus is building His kingdom with "wrecked sinners, who He is transforming Into His own image. There is another word for it: UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! Matthew 5:38-48 Jesus knew that the people
brought into his kingdom would still have their sinful bodies as
long as they live on this earth. So Jesus set forth a
spiritual law of how each conflict should be resolved. REMEMBER THIS: YOU CANNOT MOCK GOD! Galatians 6:7-9 Anyone not obeying God's
spiritual laws will have a fish waiting for them. God has an ample
supply of fish for every disobedient citizen in His kingdom.
