HARMONY WITH GOD BRINGS TOTAL HEALTH  
PART ONE

A man’s body is a complex vehicle designed by God to last for a lifetime, which God has set to be 120 earth years. Genesis 6:3

Moses came to understand that because of man’s sin, few would live their full lives on this earth - Psalm 90:7-12

Moses also recognized that unless God makes us glad, it is all down hill - v.13-17

TO DWELL IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH IS TO BE IN HARMONY WITH GOD - Psalm 91:1-16

Let us now take a look at an automobile. There are basically three forces that can destroy a car: 

1. An external force (being hit by another car or crashing into an immovable object, catching on fire, being immersed in water, rust out, etc.)

2. Putting in the wrong fuel, lubricants and other fluids, tires inflated with the wrong air pressure, putting on parts which are not compatible with the design of the car.

3. The car has a bad driver who upsets the harmony of design and ruins the car.

In this series of sermons we are going to focus on the "driver" of a human body. The body in itself does not have any personality, just like a non-running automobile. It is the driver who brings personality to a car and also to the human body. The driver of a human body is the SOUL OF A MAN! Genesis 2:7; Hebrews 4:12

The health of the human body depends upon the status of the soul. If the soul is troubled it will cause sickness in the body. Job 7:11; 19:2; 30:16-31; Psalm 6:1-7

A troubled soul will put spiritual pressure on the physical body, and that will in turn cause the body to either generate too much electricity or too little. The human body is run by electrical impulses which control all chemical processes and muscle movements. Thus the endocrine system (glands) will either produce too many or too few hormones, which in turn will effect the entire body from digestion of food to the elimination of waste products. It will also effect the heart rate, blood pressure and all other body functions. Proverbs 17:22; 18:14

Harmony is a gift from God. God is in harmony with Himself - John 17:1-26

Harmony is the key to total health, body, soul, and spirit - John 14:23-27; 16:33

        The sickness in our lives is caused by mechanical or chemical abuse or neglect of our   bodies, or a damaged soul.

When God created all things, behold it was good - Genesis 1:10; 12; 18; 21; 25; 31

Sin destroys harmony - Genesis 3:9-11

Not being content is the mother of all sins - Isaiah 14:12-14

Satan was able to persuade Eve not to be content - Genesis 3:6

Anger, rage, jealousy, envy, grief, sorrow all have the same tap root: NOT BEING CONTENT! James 3:14-16

I am not happy BECAUSE . . . . then follows a river of excuses!

          "Fix all these things and then I would be happy . . . ."  NO, YOU WOULDN'T!  Happiness is to be in harmony with God.      

Jesus said: Come unto me . . . . Matthew 11:28-30

                    Do you have an ear with which to hear ?
