UNDERSTANDING THE KINGDOM OF GOD
PART TEN - D     MOSES, GOD’S MAN

God brought Moses from one challenge to another one, and Moses never had time to sit down and catch his breath and relax. The last meeting with Pharaoh had not gone well, with Pharaoh threatening Moses with the death penalty - Exodus 10:27-29

While Moses was still in the palace, God told him of the last plague, death of the first born in every Egyptian household. The Bible records that Moses left the palace in GREAT ANGER! Exodus 11:8

Moses had less than 24 hours to prepare his people to leave Egypt, and at the last evening meal in Egypt before the exodus, they were to eat their first Pass Over meal.

1. The Hebrew children were to borrow silver and gold immediately - V.2-3

2. The people were to take a lamb, kill it and then paint the door posts with blood - Exodus 12:1-14

3. Moses and Aaron must have built up an extensive organization, to get some 3 million people ready to start moving with just a few hours warning - Verses 21-28

When God moved at midnight, it was a shock for the Egyptians and relief and euphoria for Moses and his people - Verses 29-42

The Bible does not tell us if Moses knew in advance, that God was not going to lead them out via the coast road next to the Mediterranean sea, but instead they were led south on a road that led to the wilderness, but blocked by the Red Sea - Verses 17-20

The presence of the Lord was with them day and night - Verses 21-22

WHAT PEOPLE SEE AS A CATASTROPHE, IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR GOD!
Moses was told in advance by God, Pharaoh and his army are coming, but he shall be destroyed. Again Moses had to trust in THE WORD OF GOD! Exodus 14:1-9

God wanted to build faith in the people, but they wanted no part of it - V.5-9

Instead of having faith in God, standing on the Word of God THEY LET THEIR EMOTIONS RUN FREE AND ALL THAT WAS LEFT IN THEM WAS THE CRY, WE SHOULD NEVER HAD LEFT EGYPT, DID WE NOT TELL YOU THAT MOSES!!!! Verses 10-12

This was the first test for Moses, for months he had been busy to get the people out of Egypt, and once they were out, he faced a mountain that no man could remove, the army of Egypt behind them and the Red Sea in front of him, with no place to go. But God had a plan - Verses 13-20

During the night God parted the sea - Verses 21

Moses had to give the orders, move out and cross the sea - verse 22

The Bible does not tell us if Moses led them, or if he walked as a rear guard.

God took care of the Egyptians - Verses 23-29

Miracles do not create faith, only a personal relationship with God himself creates faith, that can be trusted in the worse kind of crisis on this earth - Verses 30-31

The children of Israel had a mega praise and worship service on the other side of the Red Sea, but it was all emotions, no substance in their heart, just like we see in our land today, in rally after rally, ball game after ball game - Exodus 15:1-21

Three days later they were out of water, and the great mega praise and worship service was forgotten, the destruction of Pharaoh and his army was forgotten, no water, emotions kicked in again - Verses 22-27

Today our nation is reeling under a financial downturn, fear is rising among the unsaved people. At which side of the Red Sea are you going to dance and sing ???
