THE KINGDOM OF GOD 27 January 2002 CHAPTER FOUR: The Throne Room of God The apostle John is now taken in the spirit directly to the very throne room of God. It is obvious that this place which is also known as "the city of God", or "the mountain in the north," is the central power center from which God the Father rules his creation. It is also known as the "third heaven" (2 Corinthians 12:1-4). This place is outside the creation itself. In other words, God does not live in his creation, but through his Spirit he indwells the creation. This is substantiated by the prophet Isaiah in chapter 14:12-14; and the prophet Ezekiel, chapter 28:11-19. Bonus Scripture: Hebrews 8:8-13 What we can learn from this is that man does not know at all what kind of environment that God lives in -- how big it is. All we know is that God has always existed, He is eternal backward in time and He is eternal for the future. Isaiah 45:1-25; 46:8-11; Hebrews 13:8; Revelation 1:17-18. Bonus Scripture: II Peter 3:7-11 (In the Greek text it states in Verse 18: I am unto the ages of ages= eternal) It is very interesting to read Enoch’s description of the throne room of heaven. I am adding photocopies from the book of Enoch for our reading. [Included if tape is ordered]. It is important that we humans understand that the spiritual world is highly regulated, technically advanced beyond what man can ever dream of, and that nothing happens by chance; God is in total control. Daniel 4:1-37; Judges 6:11-23; Mathew 10:26-31. Verse 1: A human being cannot decide to enter heaven, it is by invitation only! Verse 2: The apostle was separated from his physical body, and traveled as a soul/spirit man. Verse 3: John is trying to use words to describe the beauty of the Lord. Verse 4: The inner counsel of God consists of 24 elders. The earthly council of Jesus when he walked on the earth consisted of 12 apostles. We are not told what is the reason for the different numbers. Matthew 20:20-24 Verse 5: We are not told why God has seven spirits. Verse 6-8: We are given a description of what is present in the throne room, but what it is man does not know. Look how the prophet Ezekiel described it - Chapter 1:1-25; Isaiah 6:1-4. Verse 9-11: The worship in the throne room is absolute! John 4: 23-24. Do you have an ear with which to hear? To be continued . . . .
