THE ROAD TO REVIVAL
King Jehoram
- Seventh generation of king David (126 years after King David)
This king was the seventh king in Jerusalem after king David and he reigned for
8 years. A very wicked man. Murdered all his brothers and a number of Jewish
nobles in order to consolidate his political power. He married the wicked
daughter of King Ahab and Jezebel, who introduced Baal worship in Jerusalem. He
forced young Jewish girls to become temple prostitutes, in the horrible rites of
the pagan goddess, Ashtoreth. The prophet Elijah, who lived in the northern
kingdom of Israel sent him a message from God, pronouncing judgement, and the
king died of a horrible decease. 2
Chronicles 21:1-20
King Ahaziah
(also known as Jehoahaz) - Eighth generation of king David (134 years after king
David)
This king reigned only one year over Jerusalem, when he was killed. He had been
trained in the pagan worship of Baal by his own mother, Athaliah. He joined
forces with the wicked king of Israel at that time, Jehoram and God only allowed
him to reign for 1 year, before he was slain by the sword. 2
Chronicles 22:1-9 His wicked mother
Athalia through murder and dirty politics took power over Jerusalem and reigned
for six years as "queen," and then she was executed 141 years after
king David. 2 Chronicles 22:10-12
The judgment from God on king David’s
descendants continued 141 years after his death - 2
Samuel 12:7-14
Today we can be set free from generational
curses through Christ - Galations
3:13-14 But each believer in Christ
must apply this in his own life, it does not come automatically, when we receive
Christ as our Lord and Savior!
