RLJ-883 OUR MISSION IN
THE KINGDOM OF GOD John S. Torell July 27, 2003
A backslidden Christian does not want to attend prayer meetings! Neither does he want to read the Bible, pray for himself or witness to others about Christ. He will lose the joy of the Lord, become angry, cranky, miserable, irritated and heaping criticism on those who are still walking with Christ! Eventually he will drop out of church completely, citing his great excuse: I CANNOT STAND ALL THESE HYPOCRITES IN THE CHURCH, NOT REALIZING THAT HE IS THE BIGGEST HYPOCRITE OF THEM ALL! James 3:8-18 This condition brings great joy to the Devil and all his fallen angels and grief to our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Ghost! THE SPIRIT OF ERROR I John 4:6 This is a powerful class of demons, and are extremely difficult to detect. They work in secrecy, using a number of other classes of demons to cover them, and making it almost impossible to detect them. "Flying cover" for these evil spirits are religious spirits, spirits of sentimentality, spirits of guilt, spirits of offense, spirits of approval, and spirits of recognition. OVERCOMING AN ATTITUDE Before the Army of God can attack the evil forces of the Devil, God’s soldiers must be "cleansed and healed" from their infirmities. This is a mission that Jesus came to start. Luke 4:28-44 If a person does not know that he has a problem, there will be no solutions for him. Luke 4:18-21 As I look in my own life I realize that instead of having compassion for the lost, many times I have anger, disgust, rejection and I begin to despise them. I feel that they are stupid, they are trashing their own selves and they deserve the pain they are in. Being totally honest with myself, I understand that this is sin, the same kind of sin that the Pharisees had. We must learn to separate the sinner from his sins! Luke 18:9-14 SELF MUST DIE, SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS MUST GO! Only God can remove this sin, as we embrace the following Scriptures: Matthew 18:21-35; 23:1-39; Romans 5:1-11 And we must remember this: IF YOU CANNOT ACCEPT GOD’S FORGIVENESS AND LOVE IN YOUR LIFE, YOU CANNOT LOVE GOD AND OTHER PEOPLE! Matthew 22:34-40 To be ready for revival we cannot have bitterness in our hearts, and we cannot despise other people! This also includes Christians! Galatians 6:1-10; James 5:19-20; I John 5:16 It is also very important that we show respect for one another. One sinful habit for humans is that when we get to know people (including spouses), we discover their weaknesses and we start losing respect for them. If you look up to a person and make that person into an "idol" and then discover they have faults and weaknesses just like you, it will trigger anger, rejection and a nasty attitude from you. Jesus had to deal with this problem - Matthew 20:20-28; Mark 9:33-37; Luke 9:45-50; 22:23-27 THE DAY YOU LOSE RESPECT FOR YOUR SPOUSE, THE HONEYMOON IS OVER! THE DAY YOU LOSE RESPECT FOR YOUR SPOUSE, YOUR LOVE FOR YOUR SPOUSE WILL START TO DIE! THE DAY YOU LOSE RESPECT FOR YOUR SPOUSE, BITTERNESS AND ANGER WILL START BUILDING IN YOUR HEART! THE DAY YOU LOSE RESPECT FOR YOUR SPOUSE, YOUR HEART WILL BEGIN TO BECOME HARD AND COLD! THE DAY YOU LOSE RESPECT FOR YOUR SPOUSE IS THE DAY THAT CRITICISM, BAD MOUTHING AND BACKBITING OF YOUR SPOUSE WILL BEGIN! All of us need a fresh filling of the Holy Ghost to restore the love of God in us! If you cannot see your own sins, you cannot repent, and if you cannot repent, then you cannot be changed. Matthew 7:1-5 To him that has an ear, let him hear! To be continued... |
