REVIVAL HAS ARRIVED!
Once the revival was set in motion, Hezekiah went a step
further, he re-instituted the practice of tithing : II Chronicles 31:2-10
Tithing is not an option, it is a command from God himself - Malachi
3:1-12
As Hezekiah and his people prospered, it was challenged by
the Devil in form of the king of Assyria. Hezekiah did what he could and
prepared a defense. II Chronicles 32:1-6
Hezekiah then told his people, do not trust in the flesh, the Lord is our
defense! Verses 7-8
The king of Assyria tried to put fear into the people in Jerusalem -
verses 9-19
But the people did not respond - II Kings 18:28-37
When Hezekiah heard the news, he turned to God - II Kings 19:1-7
Satan was not giving up, he wanted to put more fear into the king - II
Kings 19:8-13
Hezekiah went into deep prayer - verses 14-19
His prayer was heard, and word was sent via his prophet - verses 20-34
The night after God had spoken to Isaiah, judgment fell on the king of
Assyria! Verses 35-37
The Devil now changed tactics, and attacked Hezekiah with
PRIDE! II Chron.32:22-25
The Devil could now afflict him with sickness -
II Kings 20:1
Hezekiah realized his sins, and turned to God in prayer! God healed him and
gave him 15 more years to live on this earth. II Kings 20:1-11; Isaiah
38:1-22
Unless we truly hang on to God, the Devil will wear a
person down and after so many years God’s people tend to become "spiritually
sloppy." As Hezekiah grew older, he became spiritually careless. He started to
reign at age 25, became deathly sick at the age of 39, and died at the age of
54.
When the Devil sent in a messenger from the king of Babylon, instead of
rejecting this messenger, Hezekiah was impressed and wanted to impress the king
of Babylon. 2 Kings 20:12-18; Isaiah 39:1-7
The following verses show the spiritual denseness that by now had overtaken
Hezekiah, instead of lamenting over his sin, he called the judgment of God good!
Verses 19-21
In his last test from God, Hezekiah failed - II Chron.32:31
QUESTION: Every revival fire from God since the time of
Moses did not last. The Devil was able to deceive the leadership into some kind
of deception. Are we going to be a generation, that will stand upon the Word of
God and be different, or are we sliding down into carelessness? Isaiah 9:6-7;
Matthew 28:18-20
