John S. Torell April 25, 2004 We have learned that God is light and that there is no darkness in him at all. I John 1:4-7 What is more difficult, to walk on water or to walk in the light? Matthew 14:22-33 The first test was given to Adam and Eve, they failed! Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-7 Abraham was tested, he failed! Genesis 12:9-20 Abraham had to take the test over again, he failed again! Genesis 20:1-18 Abraham was tested a third time, this time he passed! Genesis 22:1-18 Joseph passed the first time he took the test. Genesis 39:1-23 Moses failed his test and was not given a second chance! Numbers 20:1-13, Deuteronomy 34:1-8 King Saul was tested once and failed. He never received a second chance! I Samuel 15:1-28 The standard test of trust is a spiritual law that God has established in that every believer in Christ will be tested. Some will pass the first time, others will have to take the test over and over again, and some are only given the test once. Here is how the test is set up: GOD WILL ALLOW A SITUATION TO DEVELOP THAT A PERSON CANNOT TAKE CARE OF IN THE FLESH. IT CAN ONLY BE TAKEN CARE OF THROUGH FAITH IN GOD AND TOTAL OBEDIENCE, BY WALKING IN THE LIGHT! In order to pass the test, a person must walk with God in obedience. Thus the Devil will “soften up” the Christian by manipulating his emotions and making him dirty through sinful behavior. Most Christians are too dense to understand this! (I Peter 5:6-11, Hebrews11:1-6) DO YOU REALLY HAVE AN EAR TO HEAR WITH? To be continued... You
