John S. Torell June 13, 2004 We have learned that God is light and there is no darkness in him at all. I John 1:4-7 What is more difficult, to walk on water or to walk in the light? Matthew 14:22-33 The standard test for God if he can trust people – is to find out if they can walk in obedience. The first test was given to Adam and Eve. They failed. Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-7 The Devil has put a doubt in the mind of man, “CAN GOD, OUR HEAVENLY FATHER BE TRUSTED?” Here is what the Bible tells us! Hebrews 6:13-20 HEBREWS CHAPTER 6 Verse 1: For the mature Christian it is now time to learn more than salvation. John 3:1-16; Acts 3:19, Romans 3:23; 6:23; 10:8-13, John 10:27-30 Verse 2: Included in the salvation teaching is also water baptism, (Matthew 28:18-20, Romans 6:1-5); the baptism of the Holy Spirit (John 7:37-39, Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-4; 19:1-7); the laying on of hands (Acts 8:5-24); the resurrection of the dead (John 11:23-26, I Corinthians 15:49-58; Daniel 12:1-3; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:1-9) Eternal damnation (Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 14:9-11; 20:10-15) Verse 3: This we will do if God permit. Verses 4-6: If a person could lose his salvation, it would be impossible to give it back to him; this is why the believer in Christ, who takes the mark of the Beast, will lose his salvation and there is no repentance left (Revelation 14:9-11). Do not confuse this with Hebrews 10:26-31 Verses 7-8: Compare this with Matthew 7:13-23 Verses 9-10: God will not forget us. Verses 11-12: Don’t’ be slothful. Verses 13-20: God is faithful, solid, and will never change. We can trust him through eternity. DO YOU REALLY HAVE AN EAR TO HEAR WITH? To be continued... You
