THE HOLY SPIRIT
Part 1: Who is the Holy Spirit? |
|
All our knowledge about God the Father, Jesus the Son
and the Holy Spirit is derived from the Scriptures. Archeology has
shed light upon ancient languages and shown that we can rely upon
the text of the Bible as recorded in Hebrew and Greek. The Holy Spirit came to the earth to perform a
distinct role, beginning with the incarnation of Jesus and the
supernatural events surrounding His birth. Yet the primary task of
the Holy Spirit is to draw men to the Lord, convict them of their
sins, and lead them to salvation. The New Testament church was born through the
magnificent baptism of the Holy Spirit, and it is He who speaks
guidance to believers, opens our understanding of the Scriptures,
and heals our bodies. We are saved by the work of Jesus on the
cross, but we are governed by the Holy Spirit. If you are unclear about who the Holy Spirit is,
this series will teach you about the third person of the Godhead,
what it takes to get to know the Holy Spirit, and what it means to
walk with Him on a daily basis. |
