Part 89: The Big Lie |

The Jewish leadership killed the Messiah promised to
Adam, but then the Roman soldiers guarding the tomb recounted how a
being of light had rolled the stone away and Jesus walked out
looking unhurt. Caiaphas and the Sanhedrin contemplated their
options and concluded that bribing the soldiers and having them
propagate a lie of falling asleep was the only viable option. It was
easy to claim that the disciples had stolen the body of Jesus. The
ungodly Jewish leadership rejected the Messiah and sealed their
fate. Yet even more insidious, they ensured future generations of
Jews would reject the Messiah as well. Thousands of Jews accepted
Jesus as their Lord and Savior during the first century, but the
majority believed the big lie orchestrated by Caiaphas.
Nevertheless, God continues to patiently call them, not willing that
any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. |
