Part 3: The Lawgiver |

Before the incarnation, Jesus acted with God the
Father and the Holy Spirit to design the spiritual and physical laws
which govern creation. The meticulous physical laws of gravity,
mathematics, chemistry, and energy govern the natural order and
leave no room for human relativism. Miracles occur is when the
spiritual laws supersede the natural boundaries. Jesus was the
lawgiver on Mount Sinai and Christians often misunderstand the
apostle Paul’s writings, believing they are exempt from the Mosaic
Law. We are in fact freed from the law of sin and death through the
redemptive work of Jesus, but not released from the moral and
spiritual commandments that reveal God’s character. The apostle John
affirmed that those who truly know Christ will keep His
commandments, and Jesus declared that not one “jot or tittle” would
pass from the Law until all is fulfilled. |
