The return of Jesus Christ brings the rebellion of
the Antichrist to a decisive end. The armies gathered at Armageddon
are destroyed, the Antichrist and False Prophet cast into the Lake
of Fire, and those who received the Mark of the Beast are summarily
executed. Satan is seized by a single angel, bound with a great
chain, and confined to the bottomless pit for one thousand years.
For Christians, the return of Jesus points to a glorious future. We
possess eternal resurrected bodies, receive a new name, share in
Christ’s inheritance, and ultimately judge the fallen angels. The
limitations of earthly life, including aging, decay, death,
marriage, and procreation, are in the past. Jesus returns as King of
kings and establishes His righteous rule over the earth. His enemies
are defeated, Satan is restrained, and the millennial kingdom begins
under the perfect authority and justice of the Son of God. |
