The New Age in light of biblical prophecy
Have you ever wondered what is wrong
with yoga, breathing exercises and visualization? Did you wonder what was the
source of power in these activities? This book will answer those questions and
demonstrate the Biblical view of these things.
Ray exposes the breadth of the New Age
movement in all areas of America’s activities: business, education, medicine,
religion and counseling or self-help methods. Yes, even in mainstream Christian
churches there are forms of meditation creeping in, in the guise of different
more acceptable names such as “centering prayer”.
Ray Yungen is able to clarify vague and
complex terms such as metaphysics, New Age, and higher self. He, with careful
documentation, shows that there is a common goal in all the occult and New Age
methodologies; that is to discover the god inside you, that you are God! In
spite of the distances and various cultures involved, there are common
techniques and goals in these New Age practices. The Bible is not silent on
these matters. After things are well documented and defined, Ray then uses the
last two chapters to tell us what the Scriptures have to say about all this.
Matthew 7:22-23 shows that all paths do
not lead to God. We need to judge so that we’ll find the correct path. Galatians 1:8
says, “ But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto
you, let him be accursed.” Ephesians 5:11 says, ”..have no fellowship with the
unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”
The Higher Self, sought after in
meditation is none other than a familiar spirit warned about in Deuteronomy 18.
So when a person is meditating and reaches their “God within,” that person has
emptied his mind so that a familiar spirit may come in to lead and dwell within
the person!
Ray Yungen then tells the reader what
we must do to be saved, how Jesus is a unique sacrifice for us, that we’re save
through grace and faith, not works.
